     Russians attack Viroqua.org Email Article To a Friend View Printable Version

    Site NewsDaily attacks from Russian spam gangs and their commentbots have forced me to disable comments on Viroqua.org stories. I hope to implement security features that will allow future story comment posts. You can still post your stories using the get published feature.

    Site NewsI get lots of link submissions but few that are related to Viroqua and Vernon County, at least as far as I can tell.

    For example: Weerwolfgrove.net doesn't appear to have any connection to Viroqua. The site is in SC and I don't think there is any direct link to the Viroqua community. It is so bizarre (scroll to the bottom of the Merry Meet page for a look at the wolf himself), I'm tempted to add it to the links for fun. I don't doubt that there are more than a few Wiccans in the coulees and maybe a weerwolf or 2 and that's fine by me. I was privileged to attend a Handfasting (Wiccan wedding ceremony) a while back, officiated by Selena Fox, and it was a beautiful event. However, the rule is "links are local".

    Weerwolves beware, there's already plenty of spooky stuff in the coulees...giant wild pigs, coyote, panther, witches and willow-wisp, not to mention all the regular folk have guns. All of whom may add their local link by using the links icon.

    Site NewsViroqua and the surrounding driftless area is one of the most photogenic places in Wisconsin. The link on the right sidebar will take you to a new flckr group where you can share your photos of Viroqua. As new photos are added, they will be displayed on this page.

    Viroqua.org is basically a community blog. You can post news items with the publish feature. Post your event in the calendar. Post messages in the forum and lots more.
    Some ideas:
    Share, offer, or seek stuff (plants, tools, CSA food share, ladder, magazines, camping gear...)
    Offer or find neighborly services (pet care, lawn mowing, music lessons, home repair...)
    Form or join a group (car pool, early childhood playgroup, food buying club, play cards...)
    Help Viroqua.org get off to a good start; post a message today!

    Site NewsTo add your link to Viroqua.org, click on the links icon at the top of the page. Then select "add a link". Fill out the form and "save". If none of the categories match your site, you can create a new category in the "if other, specify" box.

    The calendar is working. To add your Viroqua event to the calendar log in, go to calendar in the top menu. Still working on getting times to show CST rather than EST, so please put event times in the event description as well.
